The Diaconal Commuinity is a community of the Deacons of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas. The Convocation will be held under the theme, "What do You Have in Your Hand?" The theme will be broken down into sub-themes, "Nothing", "Bible", "Fishing Net", "Basin and Towel", and "Other Hands." The Convocation will share in spiritual development, fellowship, evangelistic and social witness, and networking. During the Convocation the deacons will have the opportunity to discuss the mission of the church and how they can further the work of Christ in the Caribbean and the Americas. The business of the Diaconal Community will also be discussed during the Convocation. The Wesley Diaconal Community-MCCA aims to empower and inspire Deacons of our Methodist Church for a life of service through mutual support in prayer, counsel, communication and commitment to the evangelistic and social mission of the Church. The Deacon is one of the two forms of ordained ministry in the MCCA. The other form being the Presbyter. Both are equal in status but differ in function. |
