Week 1

GOD'S SPOTLIGHT

Focus:

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.'

John 8:12 (NRSV)
 

Facts:

When one is in the Spot Light, it matters not how dark the surrounds are, that one is in light. Regardless of where that person walks, the spotlight is totally encompassing. As long as the light is there, that person will never be in darkness. Yes, darkness is scary and very powerful at times, but no darkness can prevail as long as light is present. What then are the hard core facts about Jesus, The Light of the world?
1. Follow Him and it will be impossible for you to walk in any kind of darkness.
2. Follow Him and have the light of life. WOW!

Freedom:

Why not just follow Jesus the Light of the world?

Light guides! Believe me, there is NO road that you are walking, or will ever walk, that Jesus has not already walked. You are free to let Him be your GUIDE for He has already walked the path.  There is NO darkness that can overtake Him for He does not carry any light, He IS Light!

Light guards! Jesus has not only walked the road that you must travel, but He knows every seen and unseen pitfall, since the road is not new to Him. You are free to let Him be your GUARD for He is able to save you from the deceiver's evils. He IS the Light of the world.

Light guarantees!  Light guarantees victory over darkness and Jesus, the Light of the world, guarantees that you will have the light of life. You are free to let Him be your GUARANTEE for He ensures that you are totally encompassed in His light. He IS the Light of life.
