Week 15

THE MIRACLE PATH TO CHRISTMAS IS HUMAN

FOCUS: 

While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. 
And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. [Luke 2:6 & 7 ( NRSV )]

Please keep your eyes on the human vessel Mary. A census was called for an all returned to their home towns to be registered.  Remember, the census is not for her, since she is not of the house and line of David.

FACTS

• Because Mary is pledged to Joseph, she makes the journey with him. It does help us greatly to remember that he does not make the journey because of her.

• A pregnant woman does not live as a non- pregnant woman. She lives each day and night fully conscious of the new life growing within her. The inward, new, unborn life, causes her to evidence this in many different outward ways.

• The journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem is no joy ride. It's a long rough ride for a pregnant person. Is Mary taking too great a risk, knowing that she is carrying no ordinary life?

• Has this birth place been planned by Mary? Did this first time mother plan to give birth in an animal shelter, wrap her new born in pieces of cloth and put him to rest in the feeding trough of animals? Did Mary really expect her baby to be born with animals? Is she really prepared? God Almighty is!

FREEDOM

Are you an ordinary person, man or woman, consciously carrying the Hope that God has so lovingly breathed into you? And are you, due to some secular call of law, having to make a journey, be it mental, physical or emotional, that may seem too risky for comfort?

Hope MUST be given birth. This is the time of, 'Birth for Hope!'

Do you have to be prepared? Do you have to see signs? Do you have to calculate the time?

Remember Mary! She was not prepared. Hope was born in the most unexpected and unwanted place. Hope was wrapped in the meanest poverty, with the lowest company. Will you listen to this verse once more?

"While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child." [Luke 2: 6 (NRSV)]

Whoever you are, the Birth of Hope, Peace and Joy will take place. God is still able to deliver His Word that is growing within you.  Miracle through the human, is still His way.
