WORDS OF WISDOM

WEEK 34

RESURRECTION GLORY

Read  -   John 21: 1 -14

FOCUS

Jesus is alive and all the disciples have seen Him and witnessed His resurrection acts. On this occasion, Peter and a few of the disciples have experienced a miracle that has them all elated and full of joy. Note, that their joy is made complete, not just in their knowledge of resurrection, and not just in this resurrection catch, but in the fact that the Risen Lord is actually there with them on the beach, in this early morning. Are they excited!

FACTS

Here are some facts about Resurrection Glory that must not go unnoticed.

  • Peter and companions have been experiencing 'dead' fishing. Is it not true that all their efforts and labours are in vain? There is nothing in their nets to show abundant fishing. The Risen Lord appears and their fishing takes on miraculous abundance. From empty nets to filled nets, is Resurrection Glory. Is this not Resurrection Surprise?
  • Jesus is standing on the shore talking to Peter and the disciples. Their boat is not too far out on the water. Across the water there is a conversation going on between Jesus and the disciples, but their eyes are blind to recognize Him. Suddenly, one disciple tells Peter, "It is the Lord!"  Peter wraps his outer garment around him and jumps into the water, leaving friends and fish, to get to Jesus. From not knowing, to recognizing that the Lord is present, is Resurrection Glory. Is this not Resurrection Sight?
  • Jesus then asks them for some fish. Just look at Peter. He climbs aboard the boat and single handed, drags the net-full of large fish ashore. And note, the net is not torn, thus no fish is lost. Is this not Resurrection Strength?

FREEDOM

This is Resurrection Morning! We celebrate because we know that our Lord and Saviour is Alive. Yet, like Peter and friends, many still need some personal Resurrection Glory in areas of our lives that leave our 'nets' empty.You have tried and tried, you've prayed and prayed, you've had patience upon patience and have now accepted the fact of a no change situation.
My prayer for you this Easter Week is that you be given the freedom to know;

  • Resurrection Surprise
  • Resurrection Sight
  • Resurrection Strength.

May His Resurrection Glory be evidenced in you.

HAVE A LIFE CHANGING EASTER!
