Week 40

THE THREE W's

Read:  1Kings 10: 1-9

FOCUS

The fame of Solomon, Israel's king, has spread all over the world. The queen of Sheba hears about this and is curious, not just because of his fame but because of his relation to the name of the Lord. The queen decides to go to Jerusalem herself to see if all that is being said about this man is true. She has one main purpose and she is fully prepared for this visit.

FACTS

The queen of Sheba brings of her best riches to Solomon, as she arrives in Jerusalem in pomp and splendour, with a very great caravan.

She is well armed with the most difficult questions she can find, with which to test Solomon.
Please note that Solomon is not in the least bit disturbed. He does not try to prepare himself in anticipation of what topics may be thrown at him. No! he is happy to welcome her questions.
The sessions go to plan and the queen of Sheba is overwhelmed. Three things have left her so overawed, she cannot but praise Solomon's God and bless Solomon. What does this doubting mind see?

Wisdom -  The queen is taken by the wisdom of Solomon. "Solomon answered all her questions. Nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her." ( verse 3). The queen is totally impressed.

Wealth -   The queen is mesmerized by the palace Solomon has built. She is stunned by,  "....the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes (and) his cup bearers. ( verse 5a )     

Worship - She marvels at Solomon's worship to his God, as she witnesses, " ...the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the Lord." (verse 5 b)

The queen of Sheba witnesses Solomon's Wisdom, Wealth and Worship and is overwhelmed. What is her response? Listen to this word of praise from one who is now fully convinced that God can put Himself in human beings.

" Praise be to the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of Israel. Because of the Lord's eternal love for Israel, he has made you king, to maintain justice and righteousness. "  ( verse 9)

 The voice of one who has been completely changed. The converted mind of one who witnesses the ascended position of a human being.

FREEDOM

Just as Jesus ascended, so too many a called servant ascends the natural human state, in Wisdom, Wealth and Worship. It is God who lifts the human to know these Three W's. Let the world's best minds test you, for the outcome will only be more praise and thanks to Almighty God.

Do you have the Three W's?  Then no question of the tester will be too hard for you.

God's wisdom in you will be no match for the wisdom of the world.

God's wealth in you will be His riches of love that the world's love cannot contain.

God's worship in you will transcend all others and God alone will be praised. 

Do you dare celebrate Ascension in a different way? Are you free to accept that Jesus Himself gives His people Wisdom, Wealth and Worship? You too can ascend the normal and natural of this world to show the Ascended Christ in you.
